Who doesnt want to have a hairless body, I’m sure we all do, I know all the struggles we have to face, so many methods out there which work for some but are very time consuming and the results don’t last for long, after 3 days you hair starts popping back up and after a week you’ll notice a leg full of hair, struggles women have to go through (sighs), so let’s talk about body hair removal, but hey, let me stop you there, if you are looking for permanent body hair removal then my sincere apologies this post is not for you, till date I have not found a method which can remove body hair permanently unless it is electrolysis, but yes I have natural methods which remove facial hair permanently which I will share with you in my later posts, for now I will be going through a few methods of body hair removal from my personal experience and things that have and have not worked for me.

Methods of hair removal

razor

The easiest method of body hair removal has to be using a razor, all you have to do is apply shaving cream or shower gel and shave, in seconds the unwanted hair is gone. Advantages of using a razor would be its efficiency, also your skin is exfoliated when you shave, so if your in a real hurry I would recommend you to use a razor, the disadvantage of using a razor would be you will have to shave every day or every other day, and also the cuts that shaving can leave you with, so using a razor for me just doesn’t work, I would give it a 5/10 as it is a natural method of hair removal. If you don’t mind shaving every other day and don’t mind those little cuts you can end up with then this method is for you.

smooth away hair removal

don’t know if you have heard of this device or not but I have used it in the past, smooth away is a painful free and chemical free way to remove your hair, it is a small device which contains patented superfine crystal pads which gently get rid of the hair on your body.

Advantages of using smooth away hair removal system would be that it is painful free, chemical free, fast hair removal without any irritation, you can do it anywhere even while you are watching T.V, some people have also noticed less hair growth, disadvantages of using smooth away hair removal system would be that your hair will be back in a week or two, you will also have to order replacement pads after all the pads in the pack have been used, If you rub it too hard it can be abrasive towards your skin, so I would give it a 7/10 as it caused me no irritation. If you are someone  who cannot tolerate a painful method of hair removal, this is definitely for you.

waxing

Waxing is a very common method used at home and in salons to remove hair, a layer of wax is applied to the skin, then a fabric or a strip of wax paper is applied on top of the wax and is pulled in the opposite direction of the hair growth so the hair is removed from the follicles, there are many types of waxes available, I always opt for the natural waxes, I have had waxing done at the salon where I asked them to use natural wax, I have also tried waxing at home, when I first used wax I used veet wax strips on my arm I was very young at that time, I can honestly say I screamed the whole house down when I pulled it off, (laughs) that was a embarrassing moment, if you want to wax I would recommend this sugar wax, it is so much more gentle on the skin, I have used this sugar wax, it leaves the skin feeling moisturised. Advantages of waxing would be that your skin will be super soft and hair free for a few weeks even to a month, disadvantages of waxing would be that it is a very messy process, it takes a very long time, depending on the type of wax you are using it can burn your skin if you are not careful, it is very painful, it can be costly buying the wax, I would give it 7/10 as it keeps you hair free for a good couple of weeks.

Epilator

epilator is a electronical device which has many tweezers that grip the hairs and pull them out from the hair follicles, there are many types of epilators available including wet and dry use epilators, epilators are a very good investment, I first used an epilator when I was 17 to epilate my legs, it was reallllly painful, I still have that epilator, it was the first epilator that Braun released, but recently I went and bought myself a Braun silk epil 5 dry epilator, I found it to be more affordable, (bearing in mind that their are new versions available) I have to say it’s amazing, you can epilate the hair as soon as the hair shows on the surface of the skin, I can epilate both legs in 15 mins and hair free for 3-4 weeks.

Advantages of epilating would be that the hair is removed from the follicle just like waxing, it’s a one time investment, you won’t need to go to a salon, it can be done within a short amount of time, you will be hair free for 3-4 weeks depending on your hair growth, you can take a wet dry epilator into the shower and epilate while showering, disadvantage of epilating would be the pain you have to tolerate, (especially the first few times) it can be expensive buying a epilator other than that it is my favourite method of removing hair, I would give it a 9/10. so if you have some money to spare and you can tolerate the small amount of pain, then this method is for you.

I have covered the hair removal methods that I have used and still use, I would not recommend you to use depilatory creams or barium sulfate soaps to remove the hair as I find it being toxic towards your skin and body.

If you remove body hair or even if you don’t you are beautiful, keep smiling as you are amazing just the way you are!!
