Ever heard of moringa?? I’m sure you have walked by it in the health food stores without knowing how amazing the super food is, I’m sure it must have caught your eye, and you most certainly thought, what is this moringa powder, and then walked past it, but next time I’m certain you won’t avoid anywhere you see moringa after reading this.


What is moringa?

Moringa olieifera, also known as horseradish tree, is a small tree which is native to Asia and Africa, it is the most nutritious tree found on the earth, moringa tree grows in a dry environment with a very small amount of water, moringa leaves are the most nutritious part of the tree which are dried and powdered to consume as an alternative to all vitamins and minerals, the moringa pods also known as drumsticks are widely used in Indian and Pakistani cuisine to make curries, and salads, the dried pods contain seeds which moringa oil is extracted from. Moringa is one of the greatest super foods which is gaining popularity amongst health conscious individuals.

You can take moringa powder as a supplement it is available in a form of a capsule, if you don’t want to consume it as a capsule you can buy moringa powder, add 1/2 tsp to your smoothies or your cereal or a salad or just add in a glass and add water and drink it, my favorite way is to add it to my oatmeal.

Moringa is what you are looking for if you want to increase the growth of your hair, add shine to your hair, and get rid of an oily scalp, moringa contains a huge amount of nutrients and antioxidants which are beneficial for healthy hair, moringa prevents hair loss, it contains vitamin B6, biotin and folic acid which are necessary for growing hair, vitamin E is also present in moringa, vitamin E stimulates the scalp by increasing circulation, when the circulation of the blood increases more nutrients are going to the hair follicles which is why your hair will grow stronger and healthier.

How to use moringa for hair

Moringa is available in the form of oil but not yet widely available it can also be quite pricey but if you can afford to buy it, all you have to do is warm it up slightly and massage it in to your scalp and on the roots of your hair, leave it on, after 2 hours wash your hair, you can also leave it on overnight and wash the next morning.

If you can’t buy the oil don’t worry, all you have to do is add 1 tbsp of moringa powder to 1tbsp of almond oil and 1tsp of grape seed oil, warm it up and mix it very well until all the ingredients are well blended, then just apply the oil blend to your scalp and also the tips of your hair, concentrating mostly on the scalp, you do not need to apply to the lengths of your hair, leave it on for 2 hours and shampoo and condition you hair as normal, and let you hair air dry, it works wonders.

    I have never heard about this, but it sounds amazing. Do you know if it is safe for those who have Coeliac’s disease? Those who have intolerance to certain ingredients?

      Moringa powder is said to be a gluten free superfood, according to the information I have, celiacs bodies react different to certain foods so I can’t be certain how you would react to it, also moringa has cured people with certain type of allergies.
